FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
LEXINGTON, KY, October 9, 2022 (The Amteck Team) On Friday, October 14th, Lexington-based electrical contractor, Amteck, will host an educational event targeted at increasing the public’s familiarity with electric vehicles (EVs) and charging systems. Representatives from a variety of dealerships, manufacturers, and non-profit organizations will be present to answer questions and provide demonstrations to attendees.
The event is hands-on and allows the public to get behind the wheel of an EV, learn how to charge one, and more. Curtis Rogers, the manager of Amteck’s EV Solutions Division, explains that “with the state receiving $70 million for EV infrastructure, the costs and inconveniences to drive electric are being lowered, so we want to tackle the ongoing knowledge problem.” Recent research indicates that fewer than 1% of Americans drive electric vehicles, making them unfamiliar to the vast majority of people.
The event is expected to draw attendees from across the Bluegrass region, including local and state officials. Business owners are welcome to visit and learn more about fleet solutions and parking lot retrofitting. As one of America’s largest electrical contractors, Amteck has been installing chargers from coast to coast for years. Executive Vice President, Lorne Smith is excited about what the future holds for EV infrastructure: “We just want to play our role in helping everyone who wants to make the jump to electric do so as smoothly and cost-effectively as possible. This event is a great way to help people experience EV chargers in a no-risk, fun environment.”
