What is Amteck's Quick Start Program?
The annual Amteck Quick Start program offers paid training for 4 weeks with immediate hiring opportunities upon completion. The program covers the fundamentals of basic electricity, other construction applications, and essential job safety fundamentals. Upon finishing the program, participants will be hired as full-time employees at $15/hour and transition into roles such as electricians, low voltage/fire alarm technicians, or other positions at Amteck. Additionally, all participants will receive a set of tools to help start their career in the electrical trade.
After starting full-time, participants are eligible to enroll in our apprenticeship program, with pay raises every six months upon completing each semester. Many graduates advance to roles like estimator, procurement associate, foreman, or superintendent.
What We Are Looking For:
Ideal candidates have experience with basic hand and power tools, familiarity with reading tape measures, and an eagerness to grow in a rewarding career.
What We Offer:
We offer Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance. Employees have access to paid, short-term disability, and they receive 8 paid holidays and 2 weeks of vacation per year.Â
Quick Start Program FAQs
WHEN
Every year, Amteck’s Quick Start Program begins at the end of the school year. This typically means a May or June start date, though the exact dates and times vary by year and location. The Program typically runs about 4 weeks.
WHERE
Amteck offers their Quick Start Program in three cities: Lexington, KY, Dyersburg, TN, and Greenville, SC. Please note that Quick Start in Dyersburg is called “REAP” or Registered Electrical Apprenticeship Preparation. Â
WHO
Amteck’s Quick Start Program is open to anyone over the age of 18 who is interested in jumping into the electrical trade. We want to enable your success. So, if you just graduated high school, finishing technical college, or you are looking for a career change, the Quick Start Program is for you.
